Bengals DB coach attends Kansas State pro day

Bengals defensive backs coach Mark Carrier attended Kansas State’s pro day March 11, when 10 teams were present to watch 23 players work out: 20 from Kansas State and three from smaller schools in the area.

Carrier was here to see Ty Zimmerman, a defensive back who was not at the combine. Zimmerman is recovering from right labrum surgery and will work out April 28 at Kansas State.

Marcus Heit, LS: Heit (6-foot-3, 252 pounds) ran 4.92 and 4.94 in the 40. He posted a 31-inch vertical and a 9-8 broad jump. His arms measured 31 1/4 inches, and he had 11 reps in the bench press. He didn’t do the shuttle and three-cone drill. Everyone nowadays, it seems, is looking for a deep snapper, and Heit is a very good one — he can snap the ball fast, and he can put it on your left hip…
